Two Starkville Citizens Named Statewide GIVE Award Winners

GIVE Gaines & 1st LadyCongratulations to our very own Lynn Gaines (and also to Joan Wilson), both of Starkville, for being named the 2015 Governor’s Initiative for Volunteer Excellence (GIVE) Award winners. Lynn received the award for Outstanding Achievement in Building Sustainable Community Solutions, while Joan received the award for Outstanding Service in the Arts and Humanities.

As most of you know, Lynn founded Starkville Bridges out of Poverty. In September of 2014, she was named Volunteer of the Year by the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation. With this award, among other honors, a prize award of $20,000 was given to Starkville Bridges.
